October 09 Exhibit Prints for Peace

A total of 142 Prints were exhibited during the month of September and 142 during the month of October 2009 from the Second International collective of Prints for Peace 2009 at IMNRC in Monterrey NL México.

Second International Prints for Peace México 2009

Third International Prints for Peace México 2010

The Third call will be the same as the Second call except for the deadline.

Deadline: May 15, 2010. Prints should be in Monterrey México.

Participation: No fee is required only the donation of the Print.

Required Size: 25 x 25 centimeter or 10 x 10 inches.

Presentation: Only the print in the paper (two dimentional only).

Theme: Peace .

Technique: All printmaking techniques, hand pulled prints(no glicees, no digital).

Second International Prints for Peace Mexico 2009

Special gratitude to all the following that made possible the Second International Prints for Peace 2009 México:

  • Artists from 48 countries that send their print. See the list of artists below.
  • To all friends and unknown that helped us distribute the call
  • To all friends and artists that helped us translate the call to their languages
  • To printmaking workshops and art associations that grouped to send their prints.
  • Julián Nava our IMNRC Gallery host, for invitations, posters, frames and opening reception ceremony and party.
  • To the participants of the Third Panel Discussion for Peace 2009
    Marita Gonzalez, Ximena Peredo, Raúl Vera and Ramón de la Peña.
  • To the School of Arquitecture for housing the exhibits in April at Centro Cultural Arquitectura form UANL, Monterrey México.
  • For my entire family that sponsors the Prints for Peace project and helps me with the reception of the prints, writing the lists, proofreading and organizing the Panel and exhibit.
  • To Chuy Hernandez and Pablo for hanging the prints
  • To Eli Hernandez for helping with the framing and preparing the snacks for the opening
  • To “Festival Internacional Santa Lucía” that helps with adding our exhibit to the program and the mass media communication.

IMNRC Gallery Monterrey NL México Openning 8 September 2009










The Selections Committee decided that the First Price would be awarded to
Mr. Shoji Kato from Japan with the print “Waking up from the sleepiness of the afternoon”,
the technique is Xylography. His message is “I hope all the people live a happy life in peace”.
The first prize consists of a solo exhibit with 12 prints. The 12 prints will be
returned after the exhibit.



The Selections Committee decided that the Second Price would be awarded to Mrs. Noriko Yida from Japan with the print “The Seeds of Peace”, the technique is mezzotint, dry point and collograph. The message of peace sent by her was “We must grow “peace” from seed”. “Peace” must be treated with sensitivity” . The second prize consists of the participation with 3 prints in the Second International Printmaking Collective 2010 organized by Arte/Desarrollo Humano. The three prints will be returned after the exhibit.

Both exhibits will be held at Centro Cultural Arquitectura of the School of Arquitecture of Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo Léon México in April 2010.
