Second International Collective Prints for Peace 2009 Juried Show

The new call for Prints for Peace 2009 will be posted here soon. The guidelines are similar than for the First International Prints for Peace 2008. There will be no participation fee in lieu of the donation of the Print to the Collection Art/Human Development Casa Hogar el Refugio. The deadline to receive the Prints will be July 15, 2009.

All the prints that meet the requirements will be exhibited and documented in this web page.

There will be a juried selection of the 40 Prints to go on the poster and invitations. There will be two awards, the first one for an individual exhibit and the second for a collective exhibit.

Prints for Peace 2008 Photos (in process)

The First International Printmaking Collective Prints for Peace 2008 was exhibited at Instituto Mexicano Norteamericano de Relaciones Culturales in Monterrey NL México during the month of October 2008.

Before the opening on the 1 of October 2008, a panel discussion with opinion leaders was conducted with the theme of Peace in the city. The panel members were Rosaura Barahona El Norte editorialist, Lucrecia Lozano Dean of Humanities at ITESM and Monsignor Raul Vera Archbishop of Saltillo Coahuila México.

The prints exhibited are a collection of 140 prints from 26 countries. The titles included were peace in our countries instead of war; ecology; hunger and world peace; social equality and interior or spiritual peace.
